!! HAND MADE BY ARTISAN IN NYC !!
Directly inspired by a fragment from the Cuerdale Hoard, this necklace replicates an authentic 900AD Viking silver treasure buried in Lancashire, England.
The Cuerdale Hoard consists of over 8,500 silver objects (coins, personal ornaments, fragmented metal) buried in a lead-lined chest, weighing over forty kilos (~90lbs). Silver was extremely rare in the North until the Vikings imported great quantities from their pillaging expeditions. This was later melted and reworked into the intricate Celtic jewelry we know today.
The solid sterling silver insignia pendant is 1.75 inches in overall length and slides along a braided saddle brown cord. The supple leather is vegetable dyed for authenticity and secures with a sterling silver forged hook clasp.
Each piece is hand made from start to finish by a small team in NYC, USA
